David N. Martin (1930-2012) was an influential American advertising executive renowned for co-founding The Martin Agency in 1965 with George Woltz in Richmond, Virginia. He is best known for creating the renowned slogan 'Virginia is for Lovers' in 1969, which significantly promoted Virginia as a tourist destination. This campaign has been acknowledged as one of the most iconic ad campaigns by Advertising Age in 2012, and it remains in use as of 2016.
