David Perlman was an American science journalist who lived in San Francisco. He served as the science editor for the San Francisco Chronicle. Born on December 30, 1918, in Baltimore and raised in northern Manhattan, he graduated from Columbia College. He worked at the Columbia Daily Spectator in 1939 and was part of the Graduate School of Journalism at Columbia University in 1940. Perlman passed away on June 19, 2020, at the age of 101.
