David William 'Dave' Plummer, born on August 9, 1968, in Regina, Canada, is a Canadian-American software developer and entrepreneur. He is best known as the inventor of the Windows Task Manager and for implementing Zip file support in Windows. Additionally, he developed the Windows formatting program and HyperCache for Amiga computers. Plummer also ported the game Space Cadet Pinball for Microsoft Windows NT. He holds six software patents and holds the world high score in the video game Tempest.
