He served as the United States Military Representative to the NATO Military Committee from 2012 until his retirement in 2015. Before this role, he was the Commanding General of United States Army Africa from June 2010 to August 2012. Hogg also held the position of senior U.S. Army officer in Italy, commanding the Army component to United States Africa Command, enhancing U.S. military operations in the region.
