David Robert Jones (1941-2010) was a renowned British zoologist and biologist. He studied at Bristol Cathedral School, the University of Southampton, and earned his PhD at the University of East Anglia in 1965. His professional career was largely spent at the University of British Columbia, where he became a Killam Research Scholar and Professor Emeritus. Among his accolades, he received the Fry Medal from the Canadian Society of Zoologists, the Killam Research Prize, the Flavelle Medal from the Royal Society of Canada, and was appointed to the Order of Canada.
