David Victor Scott was an influential English Anglican priest, poet, playwright, and spiritual writer. Born in Cambridge on January 13, 1947, he was educated at Solihull School and studied theology at Durham University. He served as a curate in Harlow and later as a chaplain before becoming vicar in Cumbria and rector in Winchester. Scott was also an honorary canon of Winchester Cathedral and an honorary fellow of the University of Winchester, receiving the Lambeth Degree Doctorate of Letters in 2008. He passed away on October 21, 2022, in Kendal.
