Sir David John Spiegelhalter is a prominent British statistician and a Fellow of Churchill College, Cambridge. He served as Winton Professor of the Public Understanding of Risk at the University of Cambridge from 2007 to 2018 and is a highly cited researcher in his field. He currently chairs the Winton Centre for Risk and Evidence Communication. Spiegelhalter was appointed as a non-executive director on the board of the UK Statistics Authority in May 2020, with a term extended to 2026.
