David Thomas, also known as 'Peanuts', is a former American football cornerback born on September 11, 1951, in Newark, New Jersey. He attended William M. Raines High School and played college football at Texas Southern University from 1970 to 1973. Thomas began his professional career in the World Football League as a cornerback and return specialist with the Memphis Southmen, where he was named to the All-WFL team in 1974. He also played in the Canadian Football League for the Toronto Argonauts during the 1977 and 1978 seasons.
