David Ukleba (1919-1999) was a notable Georgian geographer recognized for his contributions to landscape science. He earned his Doctorate in Geographical Sciences in 1971 and was honored as a scientist in the Georgian SSR in 1984. Born in Terjola Municipality, he graduated from Tbilisi State University in 1947 and dedicated his career to the Vakhushti Bagrationi Institute of Geography. Ukleba developed landscape research methods and published over 200 scientific works, including several monographs in multiple languages. He is featured in the American Biographical Institute's '5000 Famous Persons of the World'.
