David Wright was a British illustrator born on December 12, 1912, known for his glamorous illustrations during World War II. He created the Carol Day comic strip for the Daily Mail in 1956 and became famous for his 169 illustrations in The Sketch magazine from 1941 to 1951, many inspired by his wife. His work established him as a prominent pin-up artist of the era. In the 1950s, he continued his artistic contributions to Men Only. Wright combined his artistic talents with a role as a driving instructor for the armed forces during the war.
