He made history by being a part of the first team to represent the British Virgin Islands in the Summer Olympics, competing in the 1984 Games. Greenaway ran the 400 meters, finishing 5th in his heat, and also participated in the 4x400 meters relay, where his team finished 6th. He set a national record for the 400 meters with a time of 46.04 seconds on May 19, 1979, a record that still stands.
