Deanie Parrish (born Marie Odean Bishop Parrish) was a pioneering female pilot in the US Air Force and a member of the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) during WWII. Joining at age 21, she became an engineering test pilot and later towed target planes. Following the disbandment of the WASP, she dedicated her life to volunteer work and advocacy for female aviators, which led to the award of a Congressional Gold Medal to the WASP in 2010. She passed away just before her 100th birthday and was influential in recognizing WASP contributions.
