Lt. Gen. Deepak Harishchandra Summanwar UYSM is a retired Indian Army officer recognized for his leadership during the Kargil War in 1999. He commanded an Infantry Brigade and a Mountain Brigade, participating significantly in operations during the conflict. He has been awarded several honors, including the Uttam Yudh Seva Medal and the Vishisht Seva Medal for his distinguished service. Summanwar has also held various instructional and staff positions and is noted for his role in operations during both the Indo-Pak War of 1971 and Operation Pawan in Sri Lanka.
