Daniel 'Deke' Nihilson is an influential American zine editor, musician, actor, activist, and historian born on January 2, 1968. He co-founded the pioneering queercore zine Homocore in the late 1980s, which played a key role in shaping the queer punk scene. Nihilson has been involved in various activism efforts including labor rights with the IWW and anti-gentrification campaigns with Food Not Bombs during the 1990s. He is also known for his appearances in independent films and continues to work as a Marxist-Leninist filmmaker in Portland, Oregon.
