Dame Dela Smith DBE DL (born 10 October 1952) is a retired British educator known for her leadership at Beaumont Hill Technology College in Darlington, where she served as Headteacher from 1992 until 2010. With 35 years in education, she has been a prominent figure in special needs education, participating in national discussions and supporting the inclusion of students with special needs in mainstream schools. She chairs the Association of Special School Heads for Tees Valley and Darlington and is involved with various educational working groups.
