Demetrij Cej (1931-2012) was a Slovenian painter, set designer, and costume designer born in Belgrade. After World War II, he lived in Gorizia and graduated from the local art school. He began exhibiting his work in 1949 and started focusing on set design in the early 1960s, collaborating with the Piccolo Teatro Città di Gorizia and later the Slovensko stalno gledališče until the 1990s. He returned to Gorizia in 1994, continuing his artistic career until his death.
