Denis Marion, born Marcel Defosse, was a Belgian writer, journalist, screenwriter, and film critic. He was born on April 15, 1906, in Sint-Joost-ten-Node, Brussels, and died on August 15, 2000, in Eaubonne, France. Marion was a close friend and collaborator of André Malraux, co-writing the screenplay for the film 'Espoir, sierra de Teruel' (1937), directed by Malraux. The film was based on Malraux's book 'L'Espoir' and was shot in territory still controlled by the Second Spanish Republic during the Spanish Civil War.
