She studied journalism at Howard University and completed her business administration studies at Harvard Business School and the Yale School of Management. As the founder and president of Moms of Black Boys United and MOBB United for Social Change, she advocates for improving the treatment and perception of Black boys and men in law enforcement and society. She was named one of the BBC's 100 Women in 2021.
