Dereck Whittenburg is an American basketball coach and former player, born on October 2, 1960. He played at North Carolina State University and was part of the 1983 NCAA National Championship team. Currently, he serves as Associate Athletic Director for Community Relations and Student Support at NC State. Whittenburg has also held various coaching roles, including assistant coach at NC State and head coach at Wagner College and Fordham University.
