Dereje Nedi, born on January 13, 1954, is a former Ethiopian marathon runner. He won silver medals in the marathon at the Pan-African Games in 1978 and 1987, placed seventh at the 1980 Moscow Olympic Games, and secured victory at the Frankfurt Marathon in 1984. Nedi recorded a personal best of 2:10:32 at the Moscow Marathon, the fastest time recorded on Russian soil. He achieved bronze at the 1985 African Championships and then gold in 1988, concluding with second places at the IAAF World Cup Marathon and Berlin Marathon in 1989.
