Devinder Pal Singh Bhullar, born on May 26, 1965, is an Indian convict sentenced for a 1993 bomb blast in Delhi that resulted in nine deaths and 31 injuries. He was initially sentenced to death, but the Supreme Court of India commuted his sentence to life imprisonment in 2014 due to an unreasonable delay of eight years in deciding his mercy plea and his mental illness. Before his conviction, he worked as a professor of chemical engineering in Ludhiana.
