Diaa al-Din Dawoud was an Egyptian politician born on March 27, 1926, in the village of Al-Rawdah, Damietta Governorate. He graduated from Cairo University's Faculty of Law in 1949, and became a prominent political figure, serving in various capacities such as a member of the People's Assembly and Minister of Social Affairs. Dawoud was the leader of the Arab Democratic Nasserist Party from 2002 to 2009. He spent a decade in prison from 1971 to 1981 and passed away on April 6, 2011, after struggling with illness.
