Dic Jones was a Welsh poet and agricultural laborer from Ceredigion, born Richard Lewis Jones on March 30, 1934. He gained recognition after winning five consecutive chairs at the Urdd Eisteddfod in the 1950s, becoming notable in the literary scene. He won the National Eisteddfod chair in 1966 with his poem 'Cynhaeaf' and published a book about his life in 1989 titled 'Os Hoffech Wybod'. Jones was honored as a bard in 2007, but due to health issues, he could not attend the 2009 Eisteddfod.
