Diébédo Francis Kéré is a Burkinabé architect born on April 10, 1965. He studied at the Technical University of Berlin and founded Kéré Architecture in 2005. His architectural work, including the Gando Primary School, has received international recognition, winning awards such as the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2004 and the 2012 Global Holcim Gold Award. Kéré has undertaken projects in several countries and has held academic positions at Harvard, Yale, and TU München, where he became a professor in 2017. In 2022, he won the prestigious Pritzker Architecture Prize, being the first African and Black recipient.
