Dil Kumari Bhandari is a former and the first female Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) from Sikkim. She served as the president of the Indian Gorkha Council until 2012. Bhandari has continuously worked for the welfare of the Nepali-speaking community and is notably recognized for her contribution in advocating for the inclusion of the Nepali language in the eighth schedule of the Indian Constitution.
