Dimitar Ivanov is a Bulgarian officer of the State Security (major), businessman, public figure, and university lecturer. He began working in the political police of the communist regime in 1976, eventually becoming the head of a department in the Sixth Directorate (Countering Ideological Diversion) of State Security. After his dismissal in 1991, he held managerial positions in the private sector, participated in newspaper publishing, authored numerous books, and became known for his statements on current political issues. He is notably referred to by some as 'Mityo Gestapo'.
