Dimitar Eftimov Liaku was a prominent surgeon from Socialist Republic of Macedonia and a pioneer of surgery in Bitola. Born on January 20, 1921, in Skopje, he studied medicine in Belgrade and Sofia. He worked voluntarily in Skopje's surgical department during World War II and later performed 2,000 surgeries by the end of 1953. After specializing in surgery, he became the head of the Surgical Service in Bitola, where he served until his retirement in January 1987. He received multiple awards and acknowledgments for his contributions to medicine.
