He also explores different facets of neutron star and black hole astrophysics, as well as the properties of magnetohydrodynamic turbulence. Psaltis is a founding member of the Event Horizon Telescope, an international mm-VLBI experiment that captured the first image of a black hole, where he served as Project Scientist from 2016 to 2019.
