Dimitrios A. Spandidos is a Greek virologist and cancer researcher. He served as a professor of virology at the University of Crete from 1989 to 2015 and is currently an emeritus professor. Spandidos founded Spandidos Publications and is the editor-in-chief of twelve of its journals. He earned his Bachelor's degree from the University of Thessaloniki in 1971, his PhD from McGill University in 1976, and his DSc from the University of Glasgow in 1989.
