Dmitry Bankovsky is a former Soviet sprint canoer born on January 10, 1968, in Svietlahorsk, Byelorussian SSR. He competed predominantly in the late 1980s and early 1990s. His notable achievements include winning a gold medal in the K-4 10000 m event at the 1990 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships held in Poznań, Poland. In addition to his world championships success, he placed fourth in the K-1 1000 m event during the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul.
