Dmitry Vladimirovich Obydov (January 4, 1957 - November 23, 2010) was a Russian entomologist and senior researcher at the K.A. Timiryazev State Biological Museum. He authored 90 scientific articles and 4 monographs, specializing in the family Carabidae. Obydov was a member of the Belgian Entomological Society among others. He actively participated in the 'Atlas of Beetles of Russia' project, contributing over 500 pages. His last photo exhibition was held at the Biological Museum in 2010-2011, and a beetle species Agapanthia obydovi was named in his honor.
