Dmitry Andreyevich Timofeev (June 24, 1929 – July 17, 2010) was a Soviet and Russian geomorphologist and Doctor of Geographical Sciences. He served as the head of the geomorphology laboratory at the Russian Academy of Sciences' Institute of Geography. Timofeev was awarded the State Prize of the USSR in 1978 and chaired the Geomorphological Commission of the Academy of Sciences. He was the chief editor of the journal 'Geomorphology' and authored over 200 scientific works focusing on theoretical, climatic, and ecological geomorphology, as well as the theory of leveling surfaces.
