He specializes in the 100 and 200 meters events and has personal bests of 10.25 seconds in the 100 meters and 20.75 seconds in the 200 meters, both achieved in 2004 in Kyiv. Hlushchenko has competed in several international championships, including the 2005 European Indoor Championships, the 2005 World Championships, and the 2008 Olympic Games, but did not reach the finals in those competitions.
