She achieved early recognition by participating in various music competitions during her university studies and gained fame as the runner-up of The Voice of Ho Chi Minh City Broadcast Station in 2001. She is nicknamed 'Chocolate' due to her tanned skin, which is also the title of one of her hit songs.
