Doğan Mehmet is a British musician and stage performer born on March 31, 1990, in Brighton, England. Of Turkish Cypriot descent, he is known for his blend of English and Turkish Cypriot folk music. In 2008, he was a finalist in the BBC Young Folk Awards, releasing his EP "Unlimited" the same year. His debut album "Gypsyhead" was released in November 2009, followed by his second album "Outlandish" in 2012. He studied Folk and Traditional Music at Newcastle University from 2008 to 2013 and worked with STOMP and in the stage production "War Horse".
