Dolores González Katarain, also known as Yoyes, was a prominent ETA leader born on May 14, 1954, in Ordizia, Guipúscoa. She was notable for being the first female leader of ETA and the first to be murdered by the group under accusations of treachery. Disillusioned with the organization by 1980, she left ETA and worked in exile in Mexico. After returning to the Basque Country in 1985 without facing legal repercussions, she was assassinated on September 10, 1986, by Antonio López Ruiz, a murder reportedly ordered by Francisco Mujika Garmendia.
