He initially spent years teaching in Davos, Switzerland, while flying as an airline pilot. In 1992, he became the oldest rookie on the European Tour, finishing runner-up at the Madrid Open in his debut season. He later joined the European Senior Tour at 50, achieving a 10th place Order of Merit finish and winning the Sicilian Senior Open in 2010. His nephew, Agustín Domingo, is also a professional golfer.
