Don Brkovich, born on June 24, 1959, is known for being a member of the 1979 Michigan Spartan college basketball team that won the NCAA championship against Indiana State, noted for its star player Larry Bird. He played alongside his brother, Mike Brkovich, who was also on the championship team. Both brothers are recognized as the only known Canadian NCAA brothers to win this prestigious title. Don later transferred to play for the New Mexico Lobos under coach Gary Colson, concluding his collegiate career there.
