Lawrence Donald Casey, born on June 17, 1937, is a former American professional and collegiate basketball coach. He coached two NBA teams, the Los Angeles Clippers and the New Jersey Nets, for a season and a half each, and led the Temple Owls from 1973 to 1982. His coaching career also includes assistant positions with the Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics. Notable for his deep roots in New Jersey basketball, he guided teams to success at various levels, including high school state championships. Casey is involved in promoting fitness and sports as the vice-chairman of the President's Council on Physical Fitness.
