Donald Arthur Richard Caird (1925-2017) was an influential Irish bishop who played a significant role in the Church of Ireland during the late 20th century. He was educated at Wesley College and Trinity College, Dublin, and served in various clerical positions, including Rector of Rathmichael and Dean of Ossory. He became the last Bishop of Limerick, Ardfert, and Aghadoe from 1970 to 1976 and later was the Archbishop of Dublin and Primate of Ireland until his retirement in 1996. Caird was an advocate for the Irish language throughout his life.
