Donald M. Kerr Jr. is an American physicist and technology manager born on April 8, 1939, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He served as the fourth director of the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) from 1979 to 1985. Kerr studied electrical engineering at Cornell University, earning his bachelor's in 1963, master's in 1964, and doctorate in 1966. His career included senior roles at EG&G Inc., the Department of Energy, FBI, CIA, and National Reconnaissance Office. He has been honored with multiple awards and serves on the board of the Mitre Corporation since 2009.
