Donald McWatters is a retired Australian field hockey player born on January 23, 1941, in Maryborough. He competed in the 1960s, winning a bronze medal in field hockey at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. In the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, he was named captain of the Australian team, but an injury prevented him from playing, and he did not receive the silver medal won by Australia. After retiring, he served as the coach of the Australian field hockey team from 1977 to 1981 and was inducted into the Queensland Sport Hall of Fame in 2009.
