Prof Donald Cecil Pack CBE FRSE FEIS FIMA (1920–2016) was a prominent British mathematician known for his contributions to the study of supersonic airflows and the science of the sound barrier. He played a significant role in the establishment of Strathclyde University, where he served as Vice Principal from 1968 to 1972. In 1964, he co-founded the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications (IMA), further impacting the field of mathematics in the UK.
