Donald Rusk Currey (1934 - June 6, 2004) was an American geography professor known for his research on relics of the prehistoric Lake Bonneville in eastern Great Basin, Utah. He gained public attention as a graduate student for his controversial action in cutting down the tree Prometheus, which was a Great Basin bristlecone pine (Pinus longaeva) that was estimated to be about 4900 years old and considered the oldest living tree in the world until 2012.
