Donald George Snelgrove (1925-2016) was a British Anglican theologian who served as the Bishop of Hull from 1981 until 1994 in the Church of England. He was born in Barton-upon-Humber and educated at Queens’ College, Cambridge. After serving in the Royal Naval Reserve during WWII, he was ordained as a deacon in 1950 and as a priest in 1951. His career included roles as a curate, vicar, and rector in various churches before becoming an archdeacon and later a bishop. He retired in 1994 and continued as an honorary assistant bishop.
