Donald Strathearn Rawson was a prominent Canadian limnologist known for his extensive research on lakes in Saskatchewan and other parts of Canada. He was affiliated with the University of Saskatchewan from 1928 until his passing in 1961. Throughout his career, Rawson authored six publications detailing his findings on twelve specific lakes. Additionally, he led investigations into lake environments across Western Canada during the 1930s and into the Northwest Territories in the 1940s. His significant contributions to biology and fisheries were recognized posthumously as a Person of National Historic Significance in Canada.
