Dong Hongyou (29 April 1950 – 31 December 2022) was a notable Chinese children's writer recognized for his contributions to children's literature. He studied at Central China Normal University and was a member of the China Writers Association. Throughout his career, he received the National Excellent Children's Literature Award. He also held significant positions in literary organizations as vice chairman of the Hubei Writers Association and chairman of the Wuhan Writers. Dong passed away at the age of 72 in Wuhan Union Hospital.
