He served as a presidential advisor for defense and national security from 1996 to 2000, and briefly as the head of the Presidential Administration of Romania in 2000. Currently, he holds the position of head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery of Romania, with the rank of minister, since July 2007. His career highlights include significant roles in governmental defense and security.
