Doris Storey, later known as Doris Quarmby, was an English swimmer specializing in breaststroke. Born in Leeds on December 21, 1919, she competed during the 1930s and 1940s. She represented Great Britain in the 1936 Berlin Olympics, finishing sixth in the 200 meters breaststroke. Storey won a silver medal at the 1938 European Swimming Championships and set a world record in the 200 meters breaststroke that stood until 1959. Although she qualified for the 1948 Summer Olympics, she was not selected due to perceived family commitments, later managing a fish and chips shop with her husband.
