Doris Renée West is an Argentine nurse and veteran of the Falklands War. Born on March 5, 1930, in Tres Arroyos, she worked on the cargo ship Formosa, which was involved in transporting ammunition and food for soldiers during the conflict. West was the only nurse aboard the ship when it was bombed by British forces. Alongside four other women, she made history by being one of the few women to land in the Falklands, and she was the sole female crew member on her vessel.
